Week in Review: 02/09 to 02/15

marathon-bloody-nipples

Andy Bernard: I’m petrified of nipple chafing. Once it starts it is a vicious circle. If you have sensitive nipples, they chafe, so they become more sensitive, so they chafe more. So… I take precautions.

02/09 -5.5 Miles at 6:52 pace
02/10 – 4 Miles
02/11 – 7.1 Miles, Fartlek with 8*45 seconds at 5k race pace
02/12 – 8.5 Miles with 6*8 seconds of hill sprints at the end of the run
02/13 – Off
02/14 – 10.31 Miles, with the last 3 miles run at moderate pace, last 2 miles were uphill per Brad Hudson recommendation. Thus, I ran downtown, ran the Cherry Creek Trail and the run from REI back to my house is a solid climb, for Denver at least.
02/15 – 15 Miles at 7:12 pace, Fartlek run with 10*45 seconds at 5k race pace

50.41 Total Miles

A good week of training, starting to feel like I am getting back into shape. I also did my core work, three sessions this week, 15 minute each session.

This Saturday is the Run the Republic Stair Climb, should be interesting!

  1. Ya, you might be getting close to being in shape! Wish I could run ONE mile at 6:52. Well, ok, I probably could pull one off, but I’d lay down for the rest of the day :-)

  2. Yeah, you’re a frickin’ machine. I like the new mix-it-up training plan. I did my “hill workout” yesterday while sledding w/ the kids. Any chance you’d post most specifically what the future workouts look like? I’m still working with runnersworld’s smartcoach calculator.

  3. and *that’s* why i’m getting my nipples removed altogether.

what kind of core workouts are you using?

  4. Thats a solid week with a day off in there. I also like to see the 15 miler at a decent clip. Nice work and good luck with the stairs this weekend.
