9/20 – Boulder Half Marathon + 3 miles warm up/cool down.

Total 73.8 Miles

Thoughts:

* Most miles that I have ever run in a week.
* Boulder Marathon results are still not posted?
* I’m planning on running Regis University 5k this Saturday.
* Several new race reviews on the RunColo Forum.
* Good article on Brad Hudson
* My achilles is feeling better, sort of weird since I have had back to back 70+ mile weeks.
* I felt good with two high mileage weeks under my belt, especially considering the past two weeks that I have dealt with the flu and a cold.
* I LOVE this weather, yesterday I was complaining about the heat, today I ran in a long sleeved shirt and gloves, tomorrow is the first day of fall! Fall is the best season of the year – if you think summer – you’re wrong.

  1. Nice week, Simon.

You’ve got to think that the results issue at Boulder is something technical, but if that is the case a note on the website seems like it would be appropriate. If you look at the list of sponsors they have, it is quite obvious that they have a real go-getter in the marketing department. Maybe they should add a public relations position before all those wonderful sponsors jump ship for next year.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, one of the easiest ways to look professional as a race is to get results online before people get home, or at least day of. Two days later and still nothing – that’s enough to get even the casual race goer asking questions.

So does anyone know who won and in what time?

  2. I guess I’m wrong. I personally like running in as little as possible and summer allows me to the do that.

    Racing is another story.

    Congrats on the week.

  3. Stop talking crap about my Summer. You and your Fall can go stick it. Fall can’t figure out what it is. Its a transition. Its not hot or cold. Wanna be. Just ehhh — in between. Fall needs to get some balls and decide what kind of season it is.
